Bible Quizzing
A Ministry of the C&MA
What is Bible quizzing? |
Quizzing is a cross between a sport and a Bible study program. Bible quizzers memorize passages of Scripture, then compete against each other in teams to answer specific questions based on those verses...This quiz program uses the New International Version (NIV) 2011 translation of the Bible and is on an eight-year rotating schedule of various New Testament books. Some types of questions asked will test a quizzer's general knowledge of a passage, while others require a word-perfect answer or knowledge of a verse by its reference.
|
Because the questions come only from the Scripture passages being studied and are answered directly from the text of Scripture, no prior Bible knowledge is necessary for a student to excel in Bible Quizzing. As long as they're willing to learn the Scripture being covered during the quizzing season, they can succeed! So, Bible Quizzing can be fun for kids who have been in church all their life as well as for those who haven't. Bible Quizzing is open to students ages 10-18 (who are still in high school). Registration for Bible Quizzing is in August and September, and the regular Quizzing season runs from September to April each year. At the end of the season, quizzers who have met certain memorization goals have the opportunity to try-out for the District International Team that competes in a week-long tournament in the summer with other teams from all around the U.S. and Canada.
